Just because April showers bring May flowers doesn’t mean sneakerheads won’t have to confront a rainy day or two this summer, so Nike‘s Nike Sportswear sub-label has crafted a rain-ready set of footwear and apparel that can battle the inclement conditions of the world’s metropolises. Made up of a GORE-TEX lined Air Force 1 Low, water-repellant takes on the Air Max 95 and Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage and a set of special apparel, the offerings ensure that challenging weather won’t wash away your style.
Low-cut Air Force 1s are the lightest-toned shoe of the bunch, combining tightly-woven white textile toeboxes and quarters with soft gray pebbled leather mudguards, Swooshes and heels. A tonal GORE-TEX logo on the lateral heel denotes the shoe’s waterproof lining, while special oval laces and icy blue midsoles round off the look.
GORE-TEX is nowhere to be found on the collection’s Air Max and Blazer styles, but each boasts a rainy gray-blue upper made of water-repellant vinyl. Both are also adorned with repeating Nike Sportswear and NSW text hits, and contrast their uppers with rich navy blue and sport blue embellishments.
Last but not least, the collection’s apparel consists of both navy and gray shorts and tees. The shorts supply cargo-style pockets, rubberized badges and a water-resistant finish, while the tees — the only piece of the collection that doesn’t offer some level of water repellency — use classic Nike logos on the chest and small Nike Sportswear script hits on the left sleeve.
This entire collection will release via retailers like atmos on May 23. Prices range from ¥4,950 JPY (approximately $45 USD) to ¥19,250 (approximately $176 USD), and are inclusive of tax.
