We’re not sure what makes us smile more: Lizzo’s bright pink nails, or the mouth-watering piece of pineapple pizza that she’s casually munching on in her manicure’s social media debut. As always, the singer’s latest beauty update came by way of TikTok videos, which she shared on March 16.
The singer has always been fond of stiletto-shaped nails, but this time, it looks like Lizzo is mixing it up by opting for a square set in two of her latest Tiktok posts. At first glance, they almost seem like they could be duck nails: a wide, flared nail shape marked by sharp edges. Duck nails had a chokehold on the Internet’s nail art community for pretty much the entire first half of 2021, which is why we had to do a double-take to figure out exactly what shape the Grammy-winner chose.
Lizzo’s go-to nail artist, Eri Ishizu, was responsible for the singer’s new manicure. Ishizu posted a video to her Instagram on March 13 of Lizzo showing off her bubble gum-hued nails. In her post’s caption, the singer’s longtime nail artist said that Lizzo wore the set for her appearance at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
Thanks to Lizzo, our spirits were definitely lifted after the sight of her bright new mani. On top of that, she’s made us aware of the fact that we’ve been eating our pizza wrong all this time. That said, we all need to get a set of square-shaped nails with Barbie vibes ASAP.
