WASHINGTON (REUTERS) – U.S. President Donald Trump said on Twitter on Saturday that he was feeling well with the help of the doctors and nurses at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
“Doctors, Nurses and ALL at the GREAT Walter Reed Medical Center, and others from likewise incredible institutions who have joined them, are AMAZING!!!,” Trump said.
The press conference, however, raised more questions about the exact timeline of Trump’s diagnosis and what exactly he’s needed for treatment since being admitted into the hospital. A White House official sought to clarify Conley’s statement on the number of days Trump has had the virus, saying that the president is on Day 3 and not 72 hours into his diagnosis, according to multiple reports.
“This morning, the president is doing very well,” Conley said at a press conference outside of Walter Reed, adding that Trump hasn’t had any difficulty walking around and remains in good spirits. Conley added they made the call to bring Trump to Walter Reed out of caution.
Conley said Trump has taken his first dose of Remdesivir as a therapeutic and, as of now, will complete a five-day dosage at the hospital barring any changes. The doctor also said that Trump received an experimental antibody treatment 48 hours ago.
