Sofia Richie headed to the gym in Los Angeles yesterday and served a perfect example of why the athleisure trend is such a hit.
The model opted for a matching black sports bra and leggings set with a sweatshirt draped around her neck; the outfit also included a soft pink face mask and signature oversize shades.
While her outfit screamed gym-ready, her shoes weren’t your typical workout pair. The 22-year-old opted for an all-black version of Nike Air Force 1 ’07 sneaker, a style considered best for casual wear thanks to its full-grain leather uppers and relaxed appeal. What most fans don’t know though is that the style in its original form developed for basketball players in 1982 to combine traction with a Nike Air unit for cushioning.
You can find the same springy comfort in the shoe today, available for $90 at Nike.com.
Oftentimes when it comes to footwear, Sofia Richie turns to DSW for her more wallet-friendly picks. The brand ambassador first collaborated with DSW in May when she, as well as Reebok and Vince Camuto, came together to use footwear for good. She announced that DSW and the two brands would be donating more than 100,000 new shoes to frontline workers. DSW was also to partner with Soles4Souls to encourage shoe lovers to donate a pair of new or gently worn shoes at the retailer and via curbside pickup for communities that need them the most throughout May.
