Matthew M Williams has made a few impactful pieces at Givenchy, but none were more divisive than the Monumental Mallow that dropped back in September. Now, as the days get colder, Givenchy has released its Winter Mallow mules in two takes: 4G leather with faux fur, and a familiar-looking beige suede and faux fur iteration.
The bulbous shape of the inaugural shoe is present with the Winter Mallow mule, however, it’s less technical looking as it doesn’t feature the grooves on the upper. Instead, the 4G version opts for a calfskin leather upper that’s decorated all over with a debossed take on the house’s 4G logo, while more 4G branding hits up the midsole.
That midsole in question appears in black with arrow shapes towards the front section, and at the rear, you’ll find Givenchy’s moniker embossed into the heel. Here you’ll find the opening to the mules, which is where you’d slide your foot into a cavern of soft faux fur.
As for the other pair, it’s served in beige suede — a rather familiar hue at that — and is graced with a metal 4G badge on the upper, a cream sole unit that’s also branded as per the black leather pair, and an interior also made from faux fur, this time coming in cream with a white leather Givenchy logo on the footbed.
Take a look at both pairs of Winter Mallow mules above, and pick them up from Givenchy’s website for $850 USD a pair.
